The golden cudgel was made by Lord Lao Zi. But it wasn't taken away when Wukong was in the Eight Trigrams Furnace. Why?
Before the Monkey King made trouble in heaven, he was forged by Lord Lao Zi in the Eight Trigrams Furnace for forty-nine days. However, Lord Lao Zi didn't confiscate Monkey King's golden cudgel during this process.
Wukong has done something wrong. It is very reasonable for the heavenly court to take back his magic weapon. However, neither the Jade Emperor nor Lord Lao Zi had this plan. Why?
Because another magic treasure of Wukong has already been confiscated. When Sun Wukong left the Dragon Palace in the East Sea, he took the golden cudgel with him and a set of armor that he forced the four Dragon Kings to gather together. After the monkey was dressed, he became a handsome boy. His armor was very conspicuous in the Dragon Palace.
Wukong's armor didn't appear on the way to get the scriptures. It may have disappeared out of thin air. Actually, it should be returned to its original owner. Before the Jade Emperor sent Wukong to the demon-cutting platform, he should have ordered them to change Wukong into prison clothes.
There is a fundamental difference between the golden cudgel and the armor. The golden cudgel has become Wukong's magic weapon and is closely related to protecting his life. Looking at the armor, it's just a cover for the body. Anyway, Brother Monkey already has a golden body. So when the Jade Emperor took his armor, he didn't resist too much.
The ownership changed forever from the first day Wukong got the golden cudgel. Even Lord Lao Zi could not interfere.
